Also known as "Survey of Electronic Publishing ," this is a "let's-learn-about-the-online-community" course. There are two sections, MMC 3260 for undergraduates and MMC 5015 for graduate students. We study the history and development of online services and the Internet with a special focus on what it all means for journalists, newspapers and the future of mass media. Students also learn to create Web pages and sites.
This class, JOU 4946, gives students hands-on experience in creating and staffing interactive newspapers on Web platforms. Students work in a professional newsroom as the staff of an interactive newspaper serving Florida and the world.
