Born June 25, 1951, Duluth, Minn. Married, three step-children, grown. As a youth, Carlson was very active in the Boy Scouts of America, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout. He attended the 1967 World Jamboree as one of four scouts representing Indiana. Hobbies include computing, cooking, golf, piloting small aircraft and woodworking.
