Karin Werth, the Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning, Olympic Sports at UF says she designs workouts for the soccer team to increase strength and flexibility. She says that the workouts consist mostly of body resistance and then Olympic lifting in the spring to gain muscle. It is important to the team to lift weights because not only does it help you become stronger, but it also improves coordination and balance, which are both essential to soccer.
