Before each football game the UF Marching Band performs all the school's fight songs. This is an invigorating experience as the band runs through the tunnel out onto the field in front of roughly 90,000 fans! During pregame we spell out Gators, form the state of Florida, and make a tunnel between the letters U and F, from which the football team runs out.

Here is an example from the 2006 SEC Championship Game. This year we were celebrating 100 years of Florida Football, hence why we made the "100" instead of the state of Florida.

For every home and bowl game the band and color guard performs a half-time show. There are usually six to seven shows performed each season. These shows can vary greatly! Past examples are: rock show, swing show, environmental show, spy show, halloween show, pop show, 80's show, and many more. The ideas for these shows come from members of the Gator band who participate in the creative team.

Here are some examples taken from YouTube members:

FVE Experiences

Being a part of the band requires a lot of time and effort, but it is also very rewarding. Through the years the color guard has been honored to perform at the 2006,2008, and 2009 SEC Championship games. As well as the 2006 and 2008 BCS National Championship games. Other recent bowl games include the 2009 Sugar Bowl.

With the success of the Florida Football team, our band has been privaledged to perform on the national spotlight several times and it continues to do so in a way that represents not only the School of Music but the University as well.

The Florida Visual Ensemble is a group that not only has fun performing on the field, but we also have a lot of fun off the field and during practice!
