Beauty: Past and Present

The definition of what it means for a woman to be beautiful has changed throughout the centuries. It hasn’t always been that beauty is being tan and thin, and that’s why society can’t set today’s beauty standards in stone. Beauty is an ever-changing factor of life, and unfortunately, many young women fall victim to these standards. They starve themselves and exercise uncontrollably to be skinny, they go through with plastic surgery procedures to “enhance their beauty”, and they obsess over celebrities.

But don’t be fooled; years from now, tan and thin may not be what’s “in.” After all, having a pale complexion was considered beautiful in a woman way before tanning became the desired skin feature.
