Present Day Coca-Cola

As of now, Coca-Cola has been doing as well as it ever has been. In 2006, Coca-Cola and Coca-Cola Enterprises were ranked No. 1 and No. 2 on Fortune 500's list of best beverage companies. It has been ranked as one of the top companies to work for. As of 2000, it was the top-ranked soda in the United States.

Coke has also come a long way from just their original formula. In the 1980's, they introduced diet Coke (lowercase "d" to emphasize that it's still Coke). As of 2000, it was the most popular diet drink. In the 90's Coca-Cola came out with all kinds of different flavored beverages, such as Vanilla Coke, Cherry Coke and Sprite.

Atlanta, Ga. remains the home of Coca-Cola. Downtown Atlanta houses The World of Coca-Cola, a museum dedicated to the life and popularity of the beverage. The museum houses the world's largest collection of Coke memorabilia, as well as a drink station that allows visitors to drink Coke products from around the world.

Coke's current advertising campaign is "The Coke Side of Life." The theme is one that Coke has used time and time again, but it still manages to be effective. It's the simple, "enjoy life" approach that usually seems to work for them. Keeping up with the times, Coke also launched a viral marketing campaign on the internet.

Coke is a driving force in the global market, and its taste has a familiarity to it that almost everyone can relate to. Some even say that Coca-Cola is patriotic, that it's one of the things that is truly American. As long as the public retains their taste for the familiar, Coca-Cola will have a place in markets everywhere.
