We weren't quite certain what to do when we got to Maude's. A coffee shop with waiters and waitresses? Ludicrous!

Luckily, Rouhana had been there before and informed us that we should find a table instead of ordering at the counter.

Everyone at Maude's

Maude's ambience was stilted by the fact that all the restaurant tables were taken, and the group was forced to sit out in the Sun Center lobby.

And some of the scientists did not appreciate Maude's sit-down service, brought to them by a waitress who sounded like she had recently had her tongue pierced.

"Oh dear God, I have to tip, too?" Thagard complained. "Why don't you just take all my money?"

Gutierrez agreed. "I'd rather just order at the counter and not have to pay a tip or wait."

"It's really annoying that our coffee is taking forever," Thagard added. Coffee cup from Maude's

Rouhana wasn't quite as harsh on Maude's, claiming that it has it's place.

"Maude's is the kind of place you come after the bars close to sober up," he said.Trivial Pursuit at Maude's

But Thagard couldn't even be appeased when the coffee arrived. "Oh my gosh," she said. "This is like the smallest coffee ever."

Fortunately, like Coffee Culture, Maude's had games, the group played a rousing game of Trivial Pursuit.

"It smelled," Thagard said, "but they did have games."
