Modern Art

Pablo Picasso's
A Pablo Picasso piece.

Pablo Picasso

Picasso was a Spanish painter who cofounded the Cubist movement. His pieces are unique in that they break up a single figure into several planes. What is inspiring about Picasso’s pieces is that they are interesting to look at. Because none of his images are straight-forward, they force the viewer to think about each piece, a sought-after goal of any artist.

Picasso is also well-known for his unorthodox use of colors. His color choices are not realistic, but complement his exaggerated style of art.

Romero Britto

Romero Britto is a Brazilian-American Neo-pop artist, and possibly the most well-known commercial artist of all time. His simple yet striking images appeal to people of all ages, and show that art does not need to be extremely complicated or detailed to be good. Rather, art should be aesthetically appealing in the simplest sense.

His pieces stem from murals to household items. Britto is inspiring in the fact that his art goes beyond a canvas and an easel. Britto's art can be seen in a variety of forms and places.
