Gainesville Guacamole Guide

Las Margaritas!

Las Margaritas Rating. Las Margaritas Guac.

A friend of mine from home who graduated from UF over eight years ago told me about Las Margaritas. She told me it was one of her favorite places to go in Gainesville, and it was totally worth the 15-minute drive.

I've loved going since I first went as a freshman, but I love it even more now that I am a guacamole fan. The guac is pretty delicious here- it's not too creamy, but it's definitely not a chunky type of guacamole either. The order of guacamole came in at $3.50, which wasn't too bad. I wish they had given you more for that price though, because all we got was the small bowl pictured here.

Here's my advice for next time- Don't order the side of guacamole. The reason I say this is because it comes with every meal. My friend Ali, a pretty reliable guacamole expert, ordered the spinach quesadilla, served with a side of guacamole.

"Dipping the guac into my food was a really good idea," she said. "It made every bite of the quesadilla taste even better than it already did ."
