Get in the car, loser, we're going clubbing. Well, maybe not clubbing but you're definitely going out. It's Friday. That means no school and no responsibilities (well, there are responsibilities but we'll put those off for tomorrow, right?)

Here in Gainesville, Fridays are basically midtown's pride and joy.

"Don't go downtown -- the clubs try to convince you but it's deserted most of the time," said Nick Barshel, 24, law student. "Do yourself a favor and walk University Ave. with your friends instead."

We recommend you stop at the following places along the way:

The 21+ staple of Gainesville. It's a hole in the wall type of bar -- really though, there is a window overlooking the street, so it basically has a hole in its wall. Regardless, it's sweaty and packed and always a good time, and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Fridays, it's AYCD -- All You Can Drink. This is where your night should start.

Gator City

The glorious and notorious Gator City Friday consists of 10-cent wells. Yes, guys enjoy these too. Do yourself a favor and tip your bartender though, or else those wells will turn into water.

Grog House

Beat the clock at Grog on Fridays! If you're sitting there thinking, "WTF does that mean?" it's OK, everyone was young and naive at some point. At 9 p.m., pitchers start at 25 cents. Every 15 minutes, they go up by another 25 cents. Good luck with that.
