Tents come in many brands, sizes and colors. Pick the one that's right for you!
Sleeping bags really depend on the weather. A down sleeping bag can get very warm making it great for the winter, while a synthetic sleeping bag is better for the hotter temperatures.
Sleeping pads that go underneath your sleeping bag are important for insulating it from the coolness of the ground. Either a sleeping pad or inflatable mattress can be used, but it's especially important to have one or the other during the colder months.
Some sort of tarp to go under your tent is helpful to keep it dry from morning dew and rain.
A hammock is optional, but comfortable for naps. Since hammocks have no cover, however, watch out for bug bites.
Toilet paper or baby wipes
Sunscreen is essential in Florida, even during the winter months.
Reusable water bottle
A flashlight or headlight. (Headlights are a light and portable option.)
A well stocked first-aid kit
Papertowels are optional, depending on if you will be cooking or want to use a reusable towel to clean up. Just make sure to leave no trace when you're all done.
Trashbags to make sure you don't leave any waste behind. (Depending on the amount of time you'll be camping, you shouldn't need more than one bag.)
