Pitching 101

How you deliver a curveball

  1. Begin in fastball stance
  2. As you stride towards your catcher, your stride should be a foots length shorter than a fastball
  3. You should have at least a 45 degree bend in your stride knee
  4. As you rotate your hips 90 degrees, you’ll reach the ball towards the sky and have seams #1 and #2 should be facing your catcher
  5. As your arm swings down towards your hip, pull your fingers towards the inside of your forearm
  6. Pretend as though your right elbow is attached to your right hip and bring your right hand towards your left hip as you pull with your thumb and push with your pointer
  7. Release at your belly button
  8. When you finish the pitch, your right shoulder should be facing your catcher
