Marathon Running Tips

Welcome, future marathon runners! The purpose of this website is to provide you with some helpful information about the race as you begin training.

The very thought of putting your body through a 26.2 mile run might make your palms sweaty and your knees weak. You may be thinking to yourself, "It's impossible! How can I ever get into good enough shape to run 26.2 miles?" It is a daunting thought; however, anyone, with the proper drive and motivation, can run a marathon.

As I stated in the video on the right side of the screen, this website was created to help give you the knowledge and confidence you need to get out there and run your first marathon. Running a marathon really isn't as hard as it seems - and I've provided some tips to make your running path even more smooth.

In order to truly appreciate the marathon experience, I thought it was important to share some background information about the history of marathon running. Although it has been around for thousands of years, legend has it, running marathons has only recently taken off in the United States.

The most important aspect of this website is the "How to Train" section. This part of the website includes important information about the do's and don'ts of marathon running. Even before you begin training, it is important that you understand the importance of proper running shoes, proper diet, etc.

Finally, I provide my own marathon running story. In November 2011, I began my marathon journey, and it has been a terrific run ever since.
