About: The Swamp Restaurant, established in 1994, got its name from its proximity to the legendary Florida football field. In addition to the great location, it offers a front lawn that is prime for people watching and soaking up Gainesville's atmosphere.
Review: The Swamp is the place I take my dad to before every Gator football and basketball game. It is a family appropriate college bar that serves good food with a great atmosphere. The food is good, but overpriced. The Swamp is not short of business though. Its location lends it to be one of the most popular places in Gainesville. It's a popular bar in the late hours of the night, and you will often find a live band playing on the front lawn. You have to try it for the atmosphere, and the buffalo chicken wrap, which is great.
