Do it Yourself: Spraying

Using spray paint is an inherently easy process, but take a few tips into consideration:

Shake the can for at least one consecutive minute before doing any spraying.

"Above all else: make sure you shake the can. Thoroughly."

Spray a couple streams of paint on a test paper before hitting your stencil to make sure there are no clumps.

When spraying, keep the can six to eight inches away from the stencil and go for multiple, thin coats rather than one thick coat of paint.

Don't hold the can too far away from the surface, or the paint particles may clump together in midair and leave a bumpy residue.
