Looking for colors

A bird's colors are one of those spectacular features that humans cannot ever imitate.

Looking for colors is pretty self-explanatory, however there are specific color markings, or field markers, to look for.

"The field markings are how colors are distributed over the body," said John Barbour.

Barbour said when loooking at a bird, you should ask yourself questions about the bird. Are there stripes? Are there dots? Are there patches? How do all those pieces fit together?
