Jobs and Internships

Career Resource Center

The Career Resource Center is located on the first floor of the Reitz Union. It serves as a library and preparation center for students and alumni to find jobs, internships and advice for school. Students can have their resume critiques by student employees, sign up for an online GatorLink account or prepare for a mock interview.

The Career Resource Centerís mission is to help students succeed. The centerís focuses on teaching job searching skills, interviewing techniques and career planning. It hosts career fairs, has a mentoring program and even assists in international job searching.

Every year, the center has a variety of fairs and showcases. In October, the fall 2011 Career Showcase has about 6,300 students and alumni attend, where they had the opportunity to talk to hundreds of employers, like Macy's, Frito-Lay and Target and Walgreens. Attendees were able to hand out their resume, ask about employment opportunities and network with recruitment professionals.

Gator jobs

If you want to find something on campus, Gator Jobs is helpful for finding part-time and full-time jobs. You can narrow your search by student employee or look for a full-time staff position. All you need to do is submit a one-time application, save it in the files and apply for whatever job you need. You can narrow it down based on location, talent or even wage.

The Student Employment Office assists students in finding jobs that can help subsidize the cost of education. Many companies that hire on campus require that students have a Federal Work Study grant or go through the office. They help ensure that academics come first and that students work "normal" hours for their schedule, that is 10 to 20 a week.
