You Need To Learn the Basics

Scuba diving is not extremely difficult, but there is a certification process for a reason. Risk of injury and decompression sickness can have severe consequences, including death. A few of the crucial basic things to know before getting certified includes how to ascend and descend the water, the basic hand signals and mask clearing.

Take It To The Pool

A good diving program can take up to six weeks to complete and during the program skills are taught until they are perfected to ensure the safety of 'potential divers' as they are not certified to perform these tasks without supervision. Early on, much of this training is undergone in a deep pool.

The Real World

In real-life diving situations, the water is not as calm as it is in a pool. Keep this in mind when practicing during the certification process and be prepared for anything!
