Cream Cheese Pound Cake

3 sticks of butter (1 ½ cups)
8 oz. cream cheese
3 cups granulated sugar
3 cups of cake flour*
1 tsp. vanilla
Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Line the bottom of a 12-inch tube pan with wax paper. Set butter, eggs and cream cheese out in advance so they are room temperature when baking begins.
Cream butter and cream cheese until smooth. Add sugar and cream until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, blending each until smooth.
Sift flour then add to creamed mixture. Add vanilla.
Pour batter into prepared pan and bake at 325 degrees for 1 ½ hours. Allow cake to cool for 10 minutes, then remove from pan to continue cooling.
*My mom is convinced some of the flour is blown out and away by the mixer, so she adds a little extra.
