Get the inside details of how dance has helped other young adults stay in shape.

University of Florida student, Cady, shares how dancing has benefited and kept her body lean.

Cady is a senior at UF who has been dancing since she was 3 years old. Although she no longer dances for a team, she uses what she learned from dance to keep her body in shape and keep the dreaded "college 15" away.

If you are still apprehensive about dancing, here are a few tips.

Bring a friend to a dance class with you. Sometimes having a friend try something new with you makes the experience more comfortable. It also is a way to bond while losing calories!

Remind yourself that everyone is a beginner at some point. Even the best dancer was not the best her first time dancing. It is all about practice, so don't give up if something is hard.

You will never know if you like something, until you try it. You only have one life, so try new things. You never know if it could change your life!

Hearing how someone else used dance as a way to get in shape is great motivation. If they can stay in shape while having fun and moving to the rhythm of their favorite songs, you can too. Try dance next time you exercise. Your body may thank you for it later!
