So you want to learn a basic dance move? Then welcome to my "How to: Pirouette" website. My name is Katelyn, and I am a junior at the University of Florida. I was a dancer for my high school team as well as a competitive all-star team. Since my freshman year in college, I have been looking for new ways to stay in shape and escape from the stress of school and work. After trying multiple workout videos and cardio routines, I went back to my roots and started dancing again. Dancing lets me have fun while burning calories.

I started this website to show adults who may not have thought of dancing as a exercise routine for their age, that it is great for all ages and all body types. Dancing is also great for those who do not wish to pay for expensive gyms or are too busy during the day to fit in a good workout until late at night. Dancing and stretching can be done in your own living room. All you need is a stereo and some room to move your feet. Physically, dancing can help strengthen your core and keep muscles lean. A mixture of stretching and a few basic moves can help keep you in shape while you listen to your favorite playlist.
