Diabetes is a disease that affects more than just human beings. It can also affect dogs, cats and other animals. Much like humans with diabetes, dogs often endure the same course of treatment and are suseptible to the same problems of not having the disease under control. Such problems a dog can experience are a loss of vision, muscle deterioration, kidney failure and a host of others. Treatment for most dogs includes insulin injections and a special diet, which is much the same for humans.
