What to Bring Home

Bringing home a dog is a lot like bringing home a baby. They need somewhere to sleep, food to eat and toys to play with. You can buy these items at any pet store, and sometimes the Humane Society carries these supplies for even less.

With the dog's name, your address and your phone number.


Big enough for the dog to comfortably sleep in and grow into if they are a puppy.


Adjustable if it is a puppy.

Dog food

Ask your veterinarian what is the best type of food for your dog.

Bowls for food and water

The more often you brush your dog's hair, the less often it will shed.


Buy one that is designed for your dog's type of hair.


Toys can make the transition easier for the dog and will also assist in owner/pet bonding.
