Beer Bread

beer bread

Nothing says Bachelor Chow like beer. The best thing about this bread recipe is the fact that the dough does not need to rise. The ingredients are cheap and the recipe takes less than an hour to have fresh baked bread.

Beer: Hard cider is an excellent alternative to beer. It adds a fruity flavor and makes an entirely different tasting bread. It's also possible to substitute soda or seltzer water if alcohol is not desired.

Cardamom: This can be left out entirely or replaced with any other herb/spice you would like to see in your bread

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Grease a loaf pan with cooking spray or butter, whatever you have on hand, and set aside.
  3. Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder in a large bowl.
  4. Pour in the beer and add any spices or herbs that you want and mix thoroughly.
  5. Pour the sticky mixture into the greased pan.
  6. Bake for approximately 55 minutes.
  7. When bread is done, it should easily leave the loaf pan. Place on a cooling rack (if you have one), and cool completely before slicing
