Basic Capoeira Movements and their Definitions

Instructional Video on Basic Capoeira moves

My video on Capoeira at the Brazilian Cultural Arts Exchange in Gainesville.

When Assitant Instructor Shokito teaches a Capoeira class, he begins with a warm up, just to get the body going. Then he asks his students to stretch out. As they're stretching out, they continue to warm up, allowing their legs to loosen up. As their legs get loose, they start doing kicks and ducks and then move into more complicated movements.

Below I have listed and defined some basic Capoeira movements. The names might be difficult to understand because they are in Portuguese.
