Baking Part 2: Baking the Cookies

Cookies in oven

Make sure your oven has already been preheated to 375 degrees F. Cover a cooking pan with a cooking sheet, like tinfoil, so that the dough does not stick to the pan. Lay out the dough on the pan in anyway that you wish. Make small, large or shaped cookies.

Time the cookies to be baked for 10 minutes, but it is best to wait for them to become a golden brown color. DO not open the oven door to check on the cookies continuously as that drops the temperature in the oven, which makes baking time longer. Halfway through the baking process, turning the baking pan 180 degrees so all the cookies are evenly baked,

When baking is complete, remove the pan from the oven carefully as it will be hot. Place the pan on a wire rack so it may cool. Allow a few minutes to pass for the cookies to cool down and harden. Try picking one of the cookies up. If some of the dough sticks to the baking sheet, then the cookies are still too soft.

When the cookies are solid and can be easily picked up from the pan, they are ready to eat. Make sure to clean off all surfaces, bowls and pans used to make the cookies. Also remember to clean up and put away all the ingredients used to make the dough.

Lastly, enjoy the delicious treat you just made from scratch!
