Immune benefits of green tea

Studies have shown green tea to help prevent or lessen the severity of colds or other conditions.

An article published in Prevention Magazine highlighted a study conducted by Harvard University.

The study discovered that people who drank 5 cups of tea per day bulked up their immune system's T-cells.

The tea drinkers’ cells produced 10 times the amount of cold and flu fighting protein than the non-tea drinkers’ cells, according to the study.

The study also suggests that by boosting your interferon protein production the body can better fight food poisoning, infected cuts and even athlete’s foot.

And if five cups of tea a day seems like too much for you, the study suggests that fewer cups will also offer immune benefits.
