Straight Pool

You win the game when… You have sunk more balls than your opponent can sink even if they make the rest of the balls on the table.


In a sense, straight pool is not all that different from eight ball. In both games players race to be the first to sink eight different balls, the key difference of course being the fact that in straight pool you are not limited to which balls you are trying to pocket. Although technically a race to be the first to sink eight balls the game is often played until all balls are off the table when played in a recreational setting and oddly enough is very rarely played on the competitive circuit.
