Isn't knitting for Grandmas? I have better things to do.
All you need to start are some needles, a ball of yarn and this Web site! If you are looking to knit a quick project, pick up some large needles and extra-thick yarn at your local craft store (I like Michaels.) If you want to spend more time creating a more fine-knit project, use smaller needles and thinner yarn.
The beauty of knitting is that most everything can be made by hand with just a few different stitches. Get creative with different patterns and colorful yarn. The Internet has made it even easier to find free knitting patterns. Try doing a Google search for "checkerboard scarf," for instance. I bet you'll find what you're looking for.
