This city is located on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, which borders Florida on the west. Tampa houses another of Florida's popular theme parks, Busch Gardens, The Dark Continent, which covers 300 acres. The park contains African animals, rare birds, tropical plants, and the amusement park. Tampa is nicknamed "The Big Guava" because an early Tampa pioneer, Gavino Gutierrez, tried to cultivate guavas for commercial sale, but wasn't successfully in his attempts. There is a festival, called Guavaween in honor of his attempts. Tampa is also home to one of the three historic districts found in Florida. The gulf beaches and Ybor City, the "Cigar Capital of the World, are also places that are of interest in Tampa.
