THE BREAKFAST CLUB
This is a term that emerged in the early 1990s as a play on Northern California's Silicon Valley. The bounds of Silicon Alley are not well-defined. The first concentration of new-media businesses seemed to be in the Garment District and Chelsea, but many new firms have sprung up in SoHo, TriBeCa, and the Flatiron District.
One of the primary reasons Silicon Alley has been so successful is because "The Alley" draws people from all corners of the earth. They come to live and work together in this ever-growing hightech area. The cultural blend and diversity of ethnic traditions, viewpoints and value systems have enriched all of our lives. Silicon Alley has become a model of how diversity can add strength and unity to a complex community.
