A person who is addicted to the Internet may have the
following symptoms: (Frank, 2000; Garner, 1999;
Rumbelow, 1999)*

  • Loss of sleep
  • Devious behavior and lying (hiding computer use)
  • Aggressive behavior
  • Time distortion (losing track of time while on the
    computer)
  • Physical problems such as back strain, eyestrain
    and carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Moodiness, depression or irritability when not
    using the computer
