Instant Indexing - This type of search engine will instantly index your site and you should be listed within a few days. (This is highly uncommon among search engines.)

Support of Frames - Some search engines cannot support frames because they can't understand them. This tells you which search engines can follow frame links.

Deep Crawl - This refers to whether a search engine will list all of your site's pages within their search engine regardless of you submitting these inner pages or not.

Link Popularity - This is a search engine's measure of how popular your site is. It sometimes will determine if the search engine will put you in their index.

Link Popularity Helps Ranking - Some search engines will give a higher ranking to sites which have many links to them. So get all your friends to link to your site. Also try link exchanges with mutually beneficial sites.

Update Frequency - Some search engines can tell how often you update your web site. If you update often, the spider may come back to your site more frequently to update those changes in their index.

Supports Image Maps - Sometimes search engines cannot read image maps. So while you think your site looks so cool, because the spider can't read it, you don't get listed.

Meta Tags - Keywords - This shows which search engines use the keyword tags in indexing web sites.

Meta Tags - Description - This shows which search engines use the description tags in indexing web sites.

Meta Tag Helps Ranking - Not many search engines use meta tags to boost a site's ranking, but it is nice to know who does.

Indexes Full Text - Many search engines will index your entire text from your site. This helps increase your keyword count in the search engines.

Deletes Stop Words - Search engines who index the full text might also delete some stop words in your text (i.e. and, then, a, etc.) to conserve disk space.

Uses ALT Tags - Many abuse this opportunity by stuffing keywords, but you should use ALT tags to present relevant information and keywords.

Accepts Comment Tags - As you see from the table above, only HotBot allows comment tags to be used. It is considered a form of spamming.

Invisible Text - Another form of spamming, invisible text is creating text that is the same color as your background color. Some search engines accept this, but most will ban you from the search engine for doing it.

Tiny Text - Yet another form of spamming. Some search engines allow tiny text, but why do it when it makes your page look stupid?

Case Sensitive Search - This will help you determine how you present your keywords in your meta tags and in your full text. Because most individuals search in lowercase, you should always keep your keywords in lower case.
