Let's Dance!

Cuban culture will forever be linked with music. It is impossible to separate the Cuban people from the rhythmic sway of instruments, impossible to understand the culture without knowing the influence of sound and impossible to know the vitality rooted within the Cuban people without experiencing the blithe creativity of Cuban music. Much of Cubas music is rooted in European and African influences, merged and modified to create a unique blend of a new cultural sound. With this oftentimes beat-rich sound, came several energetic and distinctive dances. Since this site is meant for throwing a Cuban fiesta, only two dances will be high-lighted, although certainly there are dozens of different types of Cuban dance. Here we will discuss the mambo and reggaeton.
