Proper lighting is one of the important aspects of keeping your dragon healthy. Make sure your dragon has a full-spectrum UVA/UVB fluorescent light fixture as well as a basking lamp. It is crucial that these lights are placed over a screen lid, not a glass one as the rays will NOT penetrate glass. It's also best to purchase a timer to keep your dragons on a steady 12-hour cycle of lighting.

I tend to stick with Fluker's brand bulbs and equipment. My local reptile store carries the brand and it hasnít caused me any problems.

UVA/UVB lights should be changed at least once every year, regardless of whether or not they still appear to work. Over time the UVB output weakens, but the light will still function. Heating bulbs will usually burn out every few months, so it's a good idea to have a back-up ready before you're lizards are left in the cold.
