TOOLS FOR SCHOOLS is a partnership of the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners and the School Board of Alachua County that offers a free store where teachers can shop for creative learning materials.
The need : many students in Alachua County face overwhelming learning obstacles.
In our community :- Almost half of the students can't afford lunch, much less school supplies.
- Teachers spend hundreds of their own dollars to help care for their students' needs.
- Businesses: collect and donate materials that your business throws away or provide new items that can be used in the classroom.
- Teachers: shop at the free store and use the materials in your classrooms.
Every day, local businesses throw away countless items. Castoffs, overruns and manufacturing byproducts are just a few of the materials sent to the landfill instead of being reused. Imagine those items in the hands of eager students! They become useful supplies to help make math, science, and language arts concepts real.
