Countless negative stereotypes surround the image of sorority life and sorority women. Many of the ideas may be true, accurate to some extent or applicable to certain women or chapters. However, there are many positive attributes of sororities and sorority women that go under or unrecognized, and there is more to sorority life than meets the eye. Panhellenic sororities contribute to communities through service. The ideals sororities were founded upon aim to instill positive values in their members. Many prominent women in American history and culture are sorority alumnae. The aim of this site is not to crusade against popular conceptions of sorority life and women, but to present the productive aspects of the organizations in order to foster a better understanding of the purpose, contributions and accomplishments of the groups.
