Boiling the Wort

This is the brew pot in which the wort (malts and other grains) will be boiled to make our beer. When the wort comes to a boil, the brewers will add hops, a flower that gives beer flavor and bitter character. Then the wort will be boiled for about an hour, depending on the recipe. Notice the sparkling utensils: cleanliness is next to Godliness when homebrewing because any wild yeasts or bacteria that are introduced to your brew will have detrimental effects on the flavor.
