Cocker Spaniel
Ginger, 7 years old
If a Cocker is breed correctly, he/she will have a very friendly and outgoing demeanor. They are gentle and great with children. However, it is warned that you not get a Cocker from a pet store or the like because of possible behavioral and health problems. While they are active dogs, a daily walk and a quick game of catch will suffice. Depending on the haircut style you select for your Cocker (a flowing "skirt" or trimmed short), the grooming requirements can be demanding or minimal. Their long ears need to be cleaned routinely because of their tendency to dip into the water and food bowls.
