A word about third parties: futile.
Well, not really. Third-party candidates played an important role in the 2000 election, Ralph Nader of the Green Party for siphoning votes from Democrat Al Gore and Independent Pat Buchanan because of the old people in South Florida who may or may not have accidentally voted for him in the "dangling chad" debacle.
But because they don't seem to be playing such a major role in this election, I'm not going to cover third-party candidates in any kind of depth.
