detailed geographic map of chile

Location and Geography:

The country of Chile is located in Southern South America, bordering the South Atlantic Ocean and South Pacific Ocean, between Argentina and Peru. This country is twice the size the state of Minnesota and resembles the state of California on a map.

The northern Chilean desert contains great mineral wealth, primarily copper and nitrates. This small central area is important to the country in terms of population and agricultural resources. This area also is the historical center because Chile incorporated its northern and southern regions. Southern Chile is wealthy in forests and grazing lands and features an array of volcanoes and lakes. The southern coast is a labyrinth of inlets, canals, peninsulas, and islands. The Andes Mountains are located on the eastern border.

The temperature varies in narrow but wealthy South American country. The desert is in the north, the Mediterranean in the central region and it’s cool and damp in the south.
