FALL 2002

What: FOLIC ACID DAYS ON THE LAWN
-We have a table on the Lawn and hand out foods with folic acid to students. We tell them how folic acid can reduce birth defects. We try to raise health awareness.
When: Throughout the fall.
Where: On the Lawn from 11-3 PM.

What: SORORITY TALKS
-We'll be giving 15-20 minute presentations to sororities about taking folic acid and preventing birth defects.
When: Starting in November.
Where: Respective Sorority Houses

What: LOCAL CHAPTER CHEFS' AUCTION
-We help by serving as ushers/usherettes for this fundraising event. Afterwards we get to sample food from many popular local restaurants such as Blue Bird Cafe, C & O Restaurant and Boar's Head Inn.
When: December 4th from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM.

What: CHILDREN'S REHAB CENTER HALLOWEEN CARNIVAL
-The center serves children who have been injured or were born with a disability, including kids with cerebral palsy, Downs' syndrome and autism. We're going to help set up a carnival for them and run some of the stations.
When: October 31st 3:00 PM - 5:30 PM or 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM.
Where: Children's Rehab Center (Ivy Rd.).


What: BENEFIT ACAPELLA CONCERT
-We're holding an acapella concert in the fall. All proceeds go to the March of Dimes. We are trying to get the following groups: Virginia Gentlemen, Virginia Belles, AVP, Black Voices, Hullabahoos and the Sil'hooettes.
When: TBA (sometime in spring).
Where: Chemistry Auditorium.


What: BARNES & NOBLES GIFT WRAPPING
-We volunteer to wrap books for customers at Barnes & Nobles to raise money and awareness.
When: Early December.

SPRING 2003
What: TRIP TO WASHINGTON DC
-We are visiting the FDR memorial because he founded the March of Dimes. This is just a social trip.
When: March 23rd, 2003.


What: WALKAMERICA
-WalkAmerica is the nation's longest running walk. Join the walk to raise money and awareness for the March of Dimes
When: The walk happens in April. We'll be recruiting students to walk all semester long.
Where: UVA Law School.

What: SWEATSHIRT SALES
-We sell March of Dimes sweatshirts to raise money.
