Is it fair to blame the United States for it’s cultural and economical dominance? Yes and no. There is no definitive answer or solution to many of the questions, worries, and problems that may be associated with globalization and cultural imperialism. There is something that can be applied. That is hope and an open-mind. Yes, globalization and cultural imperialism can have negative affects from greed and money. But if people take a positive outlook such as the world working together, an end to poverty, world hunger, violence and war, then globalization could work for us. Grant it, the United States does have a huge influence on the world. It is up to the many citizens of the country especially those with international ties to help preserve and embrace other cultures. Uniformity in our global civilization is a challenge to many Americans. Like all other cultures, we think that our ways are the best. As a nation we are rich and powerful. It would be too easy for us to remain in our security and comfort without thinking of the world around us. But with our wealth and power also comes responsibility. We should view globalization as a world with partners who view one another as cultural equals, free of the superiority and cultural imperialism. I do not mean to make this sound simple. Like I said earlier the intention of this paper was to bring some of these issues to mind. It is up to whoever reads this to make their decision on how they plan to view the future.
