Although Cannonball Adderley is legendary in the jazz community, he isn't well remembered to those outside the jazz circle. It has been quite an experience getting to know him. He would be pleased to know that his friends remember him fondly. They still talk about his music, his sense of humor and his delicious homemade gumbo. But mostly, they talk about his enduring friendship and how still feel his influence in their lives.

Information for this site has been gathered from interviews with his family, friends and former band members. We would like to give special thanks to Olga Adderley-Chandler (Cannonball's widow), George Duke, John Levy, David Axelrod, Sid McCoy, and Roy McCurdy for letting us into their homes and their memories.
