Cleaning Your Chain

Clean and grease the chain of your bike every two weeks. To clean your chain, you can use a toothbrush and Simple Green (a biodegradable all-purpose cleaner that removes everything). Be sure to clean the gears and all parts around the chain as grease and grime accumulate in those areas as well. When applying lube to your chain, use a bike-specific lube, as WD-40 and other common varieties tend to attract dirt.
