Discover the Serengeti

The Serengeti was first discovered by Europeans in 1913 when an American by the name of Stewart Edward White crossed through the burnt realms of Aftrica and found himself in the vast region which the Maasai people of southern Africa called Siringitu - "the place where the land moves on forever."

"We walked for miles over burnt out country... Then I saw the green trees of the river, walked two miles more and found myself in paradise."
