Alejandro Cuellar, a senior zoology major at the University of Florida, trecks back to the top of the dig site after dumping a bucket of fossil-less clay. Signs of small sinkholes can be seen along the backwall of the quarry. The location of the fossil dig is a large sinkhole, about 30 yards wide, that would not have been worth the effort to mine, making it a perfect spot to search for prehistoric fossils.
