I first started dancing at age eight, but it only lasted until I was about eleven years old. I took jazz dance and gymnastics at a private studio. I quit dance until I was around sixteen, I started taking modern dance classes in community college. As I progressed, I enjoyed it so much that I started taking ballet in addition to modern dance. I learned how to choreograph and I decided I wouldn't quit dancing again. By my third year in community college I was taking ballet, modern dance, and jazz dance as well as my academic classes.
The summer before I transferred to the University of Florida I was taking one academic class to complete my associate's degree, and I was asked to join the Repertory dance class. I worked as an understudy and assistent to the artistic director for the summer show. A month before the show opened, I was cast in one of the jazz pieces.
I continue to dance at UF; I am taking jazz dance this semestre and ballet in the spring semestre. My goal is to dance as much as possible while persuing my journalism major and political science minor.
