Sacred Khepher of RaSacred Ibis of Thoth The gods of ancient Egypt each had their sacred animal. They had the ability to shift into animal form. Some of these revered animals were the cat, cow, scarab beetle, jackal and various birds such as the ibis, phoenix, vulture or hawk (Blavatsky & Judge 3-6).
