Wineries

Florida wineries and vineyards are scattered throughout the state. More than a dozen wineries are located in Florida from the Panhandle to the southern tip. Harvest times range from May to September. Visiting a winery or vineyard is an interesting experience. Florida’s wineries and vineyards are a part of Florida’s history that few people realize exists.

Florida wineries are drawing record numbers of visitors and demand for muscadine wine is growing. In fact, Florida’s demand for muscadine grapes is greater than muscadine production. Many wineries must seek out additional grapes in Georgia (Lockette, 2003).
